Additional MSEA Professional Development Opportunities
Throughout the year there are opportunities for TABCO members to participate in MSEA led professional development workshops.
MSEA and NEA view advanced, voluntary certification as an important part of long-standing efforts to enhance standards for the teaching profession. National Board Certification is a nationally recognized advanced teaching credential for effective and accomplished teachers and is a symbol of commitment to excellence in the teaching profession.
Like board-certified doctors and accountants, teachers who achieve National Board Certification have met rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment, and peer review.
Maryland educators are leaders in National Board Certification, both in the number of teachers achieving National Board Certified status and the rate of growth in the state’s NBCTs. Included in Maryland’s NBCTs are the 2006 National Teacher of the Year and the 2009 and 2010 Maryland Teachers of the Year.
If you have any questions about the MSEA National Board Support Program, please contact Géraldine Duval, MBA & NBCT, at 443-433-3641 or email@example.com.
