“I was never going to be a teacher,” says Bev Folkoff. “I wanted to be anything but a teacher. My dad is a teacher, my grandmother was a teacher. They weren’t going to make me do it, no way. When I was in high school, though, I ended up getting an internship in a self-contained special education classroom, and I just fell in love with it.”
